In 2020, Ray gave the approval for his team to build the third of his 100-school Global South target. In Machakos County, east of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, Ray built a 6-classroom school in addition to a teacher lounge, a technology center, and a solar-powered water filtration system.
When approval for the school was announced, Ray said, “It’s our mission to showcase all the good that can be done if we work together, beginning with the youth in our communities.”
The Machakos County school was designed as a hybrid nursery/primary school to cater for children aged 3 – 6 years of age. It was also internet-connected to align with Ray’s vision of sustainable and continual development through technology. “These projects are a testament to the power of cryptocurrency, and we firmly believe we can use it to change lives and make the world a better place.”
